Buscolysin is an over-the-counter medicinal product. It can be used for complex treatment of diseases that are accompanied by painful spasms of the smooth muscle of the stomach, intestines, bile ducts and genitourinary siathema.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

It has a well-defined antispasmodic (relaxing) effect on the smooth musculature of the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts and genitourinary system.

 

Contraindications:

Do not take Buscolysin in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to the active substance. Contains the excipients lactose, sucrose and colouring agent e110, which may cause allergic reactions. Do not take for glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure), muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), enlargement and thickening of the colon wall (megacolon).

Special care should be taken and consult a doctor before using Buscolizin in conditions such as: high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism (thyroid disease), heart disease, lung disease, severe liver or kidney disease, epilepsy (seizures), diabetic neuropathy, evidence of intestinal obstruction (ileus), mechanical obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract, narrowing of the pylorus, gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition in which acidic stomach contents return to the body). oesophagus), achalasia (disruption of the movement of the esophagus), gastric ulcer, medium and severe ulcerative colitis (severe inflammation of the large intestine), enlargement of the prostate with retention of urine. Use with caution in xerostomia (dry mouth due to a decrease or lack of salivary secretion), dry rhinitis (chronic inflammation of the nose with little or no secretion). Use with caution at high temperature because Buscolysin inhibits sweating. Buscolysin may provoke glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure). If eye pain and visual impairment occur after use of Buscolysin, consultation with an eye doctor is necessary.

 


Pregnancy and lactation:

It is not recommended to use Buscolysin in pregnancy, especially during the first 3 months. It is not recommended to take when breastfeeding, because part of the product is excreted in breast milk, and also suppresses glands with external secretion, due to which reduced milk secretion is observed.

In pregnancy and breast-feeding, always consult a doctor before taking any medicine, even medicines obtained without a prescription.

 

Driving and using machines:

Buscolysin may cause temporary visual impairment with difficulty seeing at close range. Do not drive until Vision has returned to normal.

 

Method of use:

The duration of use of Buscolysin should not exceed 2 weeks. The tablets should be taken whole (fasting or before meals) with a sufficient amount of water.

The recommended dose is:

For adults and children over 12 years – 1-2 tablets 2-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 80 mg (8 tablets).

For children from 6 to 12 years – 1 tablet 3 times a day.

The use of Buscolysin in children under 6 years of age is not recommended.

 

If you forget to take your dose:

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next dose, take it as usual, skipping the dose you forgot. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

 

Warning:

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, seek immediate medical attention because overdose has been observed dry mouth and throat, difficulty swallowing, agitation, fever, palpitations, reddening of the skin, hallucinations.

 

Composition in 1 tablet:

Active substance: hyoscine butylbromide (hyoscine butylbromide) – 10 mg.


 

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place, without direct sunlight, in the original package, out of the reach of children. Do not use Buscolysin after the expiry date which is stated on the package.
